Inside the retailer is a special LOCAL section where products are sold from 11 Texas-based makers and designers - including three from Fort Worth - Tucker Ink., Fort Worth Locals and And Other Adventures.
Products from the husband-and-wife lettering and typography team, Tucker Ink. include colorful Fort Worth-centric maps and graphic designs, including tote bags that were distributed at the grand opening.
Also carried through the LOCAL program are hand-embroidered hoops from And Other Adventures, a local company currently selling vintage-inspired handmage goods through an Etsy shop.
West Elm also provides a spot for patrons to buy Fort Worth-branded accessories, apparel and drinkwares from Fort Worth Locals.
Dallas gets in on the action with handcrafted coasters from Gaston Made and Texas-inspired postcards from Lilco Letterpress.
"With the opening of our new Fort Worth store, we are committed to building community by supporting area businesses and Texas-based artists through our LOCAL program, pop-up shops, and community-led workshops," said West Elm president Alex Bellos.
