On Wednesday, September 16 at 6:30 p.m., Bird Café on Sundance Square Plaza will host a Boilermarker Pairdiné showcasing Southern Star Brewery and Garrison Brothers Distillery.

Kaffir oil-seared scallops with zerbenz and yuzu granita, bull's blood pumpkin oil
Valkyrie Double IPA and Fall 2012 Bourbon
Vanilla-smoked chicken thigh, dirty grits, lamb tasso and braised jus
Buried Hatchet Stout and Spring 2012 Bourbon
Miso osso bucco, mountain yam mah, wasabi gremolata

Southern Star Brewery
Location: Conroe, Texas
Southern Star Brewery was the first craft brewery in the state to offer canned beer, according to their website. Their production has been so successful since they started in 2007, they are breaking ground on a brand new facility expected to open late 2015.
Garrison Brothers Distillery
Location: Hye, Texas
Garrison Brothers Distillery was the first legal whiskey distillery in Texas; it was the first, new bourbon distillery built in America after the Prohibition. These bold and proud brothers are not only loved by their regular drinkers but also by whiskey experts: The 2014 Whisky Bible named the distillery’s Cowboy Bourbon the “American Micro Whisky of the Year.”
This combination of bourbon and beer will be served with a four-course meal prepared by Bird Café's Chef David McMillian. For $90 per person, including tax and gratuity, experience the greats in each of their field all in one meal. Reservations are required.
Make your reservation and you may run into Omar Viengar, the master brewer of Southern Star, or Dan Garrison, the owner and distiller of Garrison Brothers, while you are enjoying their creations.
