A 3.5-acre dining and entertainment destination offering views of Bluestem Park is headed to Alliance Town Center.
Hillwood, a Perot company and real estate developer of the American Airlines Center in Dallas, is planning the project, called Parkside at Alliance Town Center. The development will overlook Bluestem Park, just off of Heritage Trace Parkway, and include restaurants like Shell Shack and Grub Burger Bar. Both are expected to open in the spring of 2018.
The 17,000-square-foot development will have an indoor-outdoor emphasis, with plenty of restaurant patio room, trees for shade, and access to Bluestem Park's 14-acres of diverse greenery and wildlife. Additionally, there will be an area for games such as cornhole and bocce ball.
Shell Shack and Grub Burger Bar are the two confirmed restaurant concepts, which will occupy a combined 9,000 square feet of space. Equipped with an open air garage door, Shell Shack will offer an array of seafood items like clam chowder, king crab, and buffalo shrimp. Grub Burger Bar will have a similar setup but will include an open-air bar, serving items such as bourbon and caramel milkshakes, Mac ‘N' Cheeseburgers and sangria.
“The whole idea of the project was to do something different that didn't exist in the town center,” said Sam Rhea, Hillwood marketing manager for all of retail development within the Alliance Texas project. “There was not a great spot to go grab a happy hour beer. So we wanted to do something with some neat outdoor space where if you lived in the area you could go get some drinks.”
Other tenants will be announced at later dates, according to Hillwood.
In addition to the food and drinks, there will be a live music stage and comfortable seating around the area. “We are really wanting to make this a year-round outdoor-indoor space where people can come and just hangout and have a few drinks and enjoy some good food,” Rhea said.
