Favor Competitor Begins Service in Fort Worth

One of the true perks of a growing city is the bevy of businesses vying to come to town and make our lives as consumers just a little bit easier. Minibar began delivering beer, wine, liquor and mixers to Fort Worth residents in March, and now, nine months after delivery service, Favor, launched in Fort Worth, a competitor is creeping in. San Francisco-based DoorDash will begin operating in our fair city this Wednesday. Much like Favor, the app allows customers to order food from area restaurants and have it delivered in under and hour.

The on-demand food delivery service promises service from hundreds of “local” (they use the term loosely) favorites including Vivo 53, Chop House Burgers, Velvet Taco and Dagwoods Grinders & Growlers.

A press release says DoorDash is already making tens of thousand deliveries monthly in Dallas, and is celebrating one year of service in the city by expanding west. “Dashers”, the term for DoorDash drivers, will serve Fort Worth, Arlington, Dalworthington Gardens, Kennedale, Edgecliff Village, Mansfield and Everman.

In celebration of their anniversary in Dallas and their expansion into Fort Worth and the surrounding areas, DoorDash is offering $1 deliveries through the end of May. In June, fees will begin at $3.99.
