The Fort Worth Food and Wine Festival is back this weekend, giving everyone in the area an excuse to grab a bite, drink and celebrate all things foodie in Fort Worth. Here’s a look at what’s new and what’s changing for this year.

Tacos and Tequila

Date: Thursday, April 5
Time: 8:30-11 p.m.
Location: BRIK Venue
The New: New Event

It’s not even Friday yet, but start your weekend early with plenty of tacos and tequila. This is a brand new event and, unfortunately, is already sold out, but for those who have snatched a ticket, get ready for a win-win experience. Eight chefs and eight beverage vendors will be ready to hand out tacos and tequila.

Desserts After Dark

Date: Friday, April 6
Time: 9-11 p.m.
Location: Whiskey Ranch
The New: Different Venue

This year, Firestone & Robertson’s newly opened distillery serves as the backdrop to dance the night away while enjoying desserts and drinks from 12 pastry chefs and 12 mixologists. Participants include Stir Crazy Baked Goods, Susie Cakes and Sweet Lucy’s Pies.

Pitmasters Picnic

Date: Sunday, April 8
Time: 2-4 p.m.
Location: Heart of the Ranch at Clearfork
The New: New Name

Remember BBQ Showdown? Well, now it’s Pitmasters Picnic. The event used to take place on Thursdays but will now be traveling to the Heart of the Ranch at Clearfork on Sunday. This event will highlight 18 barbecue chefs, and each food item will be paired with crafted drinks. And, true to the event’s name, patrons are encouraged to bring blankets and chairs.

The new restaurants on the block

Attendees will also have the opportunity to try out restaurants that aren’t open yet, including Not Just Q (which was started by TCU linebacker David Hawthorne and will be opening in the Crockett Row Food Hall) and Ben’s Triple B (that’s Biscuits, Burgers and Beers, opening near Texas Wesleyan University).
