Regino Rojas photographed with his family in June 2012 after opening Revolver Taco Lounge on West Seventh Street.
In a kick to the gut, the James Beard Foundation announced its 2018 semifinalists for the prestigious award on Feb. 15 and the list includes Regino Rojas. Rojas, nominated for Best Chef: Southwest, is the founder of Revolver Taco Lounge — the delicious upscale taqueria/lounge that opened and closed on West Seventh Street before opening and closing on Forest Park Boulevard, in the former Sera Fine Dining location. Revolver then left Fort Worth completely, instead opening in Dallas’ Deep Ellum. We’re happy for Rojas, but now extra bummed that the restaurant fled Fort Worth.
Winners will be announced on Monday, May 7, at the Lyric Opera of Chicago.
I beg of you Fort Worthians: When good restaurants, open here, GO.
