Savor Culinary Services' new chef is someone familiar to Fort Worth.
Stefon Rishel, former executive chef of Texas Bleu Steakhouse and MAX's Wine Dive, will be joining the meal catering company as head chef. The self-taught chef, known for his colorful mohawk, is a past winner of Fort Worth Magazine's 2015 Top Chef competition and the 2015 Best Dish competition at Taste of Fort Worth.
“Savor is all about putting a lot of care into their food, and I knew that would only help me be a better chef,” Rishel said in a statement. “I also like the challenge of working with limited ingredients for those with dietary restrictions and still being able to make the food taste really great.”
Deb Cantrell will still serve as executive chef and owner, noting that she is confident in Rishel's ability to continue the company's goal of creating health-conscious dishes that suit clients' dietary needs.
“His diverse background working in amazing restaurants, extraordinary talent as a chef and general care that he takes with each bite of food for every single client made him the perfect fit to lead the Savor kitchen and team,” Cantrell said in a statement.
