It's a project more than two years in the making, but finally, Heim on the River has an opening date — April 16.
Heim Barbecue's newest location, located at 5333 White Settlement Road, will be bigger than the original, with an 8,000-square-foot space designed by co-owner Emma Heim and Coeval Studio. Heim’s husband, pitmaster Travis Heim, is also adding more to the menu with items like made-in-house sausages, brisket tacos and tortillas, seasonal cobbler and hand pies. Its full-service bar hosts a new cocktail menu, signature shots, 24 beers on tap and a variety of red and white wines.
The location will also feature a covered patio and, eventually, an outdoor beer garden.
Heim Barbecue has come a long way since its beginnings as a food truck. The restaurant's first brick-and-mortar location on Magnolia Avenue, open since 2016, continues to attract long lines of customers looking to get their fix of Heim's famous bacon burnt ends.
