UPDATE: According to Snap Kitchen, all items may not be on shelves until Sunday.
Grab-and-go health food store Snap Kitchen will be rolling out some new menu items on Friday, and its latest offerings are not only vegan, but gluten and dairy free, too.
Check it out:
Apple Oat Crisp
Unlike a traditional anglaise sauce, which is made with whole milk and whipped cream, the anglaise sauce in this Apple Oat Crisp has a cashew base, with hints of orange zest and vanilla. It's served with a bar of rolled oats baked with granny smith apples, cranberries, raisins and pistachios.
Sweet Potato Black Bean Sliders with Veggie Frites
These burger patties are made with black beans, carrots, chickpeas, mushrooms, onions, brown rice and sweet potatoes. In lieu of ketchup and fries, carrot and zucchini frites are served with vegan kewpie mayo for dipping.
Meatless Meatballs with Marinara
Black beans, chickpeas, brown rice, mushroom, onion, sweet potato and Italian herbs and spices make up the “meat” balls in this dish. It's all stirred together with marinara sauce and brown rice ziti.
Creole Fab Cakes with Broccolini and Red Peppers
They're not “crab” cakes; they're “fab” cakes, made from hearts of palm, water chestnuts, bamboo shoots, almond flour and the vegan mayonnaise Fabanaise. A slightly spicy creole mustard sauce is served on the side.
Spicy Dan Dan Noodles
Replacing the meat in this dish is ground shiitake mushrooms, served with brown rice noodles, red bell peppers, napa cabbage, carrots and chili oil.
Veggie Pot Pie
Instead of chicken, this pot pie uses tempeh, a product made from soy. It's mixed with onions, carrots, celery, peas, mushrooms, asparagus, and kale, then topped with vegan cornbread.
