TBD: An Update on 7 Previously Announced Restaurants

by Andrew Van Heusden

New restaurant announcements are seemingly a dime a dozen around here, and while many have been completed, there are some we haven’t heard from in a while. Here, a list of restaurants and an update on if and when they’ll open.

The second location of Pakpao (the original is in Dallas’ Design District) was expected to open in Crockett Row last fall. However, construction and weather have caused the opening date for this restaurant to now be pushed to later this summer. The restaurant — known for executive chef, Jet Tila, who made appearances on Food Network’s “Cutthroat Kitchen” and “Chopped” — will serve a menu of Bangkok-inspired street food.

El Bolero
Just like Pakpao, El Bolero was aiming to open in Crockett Row last fall. Likewise, it will open near the end of summer. Let’s hope specialties from its Dallas menu — like Guacamole Con Totopos (guacamole with chips and lime) and Camaron y Langosta (queso with shrimp and lobster) will make it to Fort Worth as well.

Tinie’s Mexican Rotisserie and Cocktail Lounge
This Taco Heads spinoff was expected to open last month, but construction and permitting delayed the opening. The good news? A preview of the menu will debut at the Cinco de Mayo party on South Main Street.

This A.M. Eatery is known for its wide array of breakfast food. The last time we heard from Snooze, there was no official opening date set for Fort Worth’s Left Bank location. What is the update? Well, we still don’t have much of an update, but an opening date is expected to be announced soon.

Four Sisters - Taste of Vietnam
This restaurant was announced last August, and no official grand opening date was ever set. But now, Four Sisters - Taste of Vietnam is said to be in its home stretch and will announce an opening date soon.

Flippin’ Pizza
This New York-style pizza joint will be opening at 4601 West Freeway in the Chapel Hill center by Central Market, but there hasn’t been much talk regarding when it will be open. We reached out to Flippin’ Pizza but received no response.

Hulen Food + Fun
The former owner of Fort Worth Food Park announced his new food and playground development concept last year and planned to open it this spring. There is no update on this planned project. We reached out to the expected owner of Hulen Food + Fun but received no response.
