It's hard to believe we're already thinking about Christmas in mid-October, but it's true. Trick-or-treaters have yet to beg for candy, and here I am drooling over Neiman Marcus' 2016 Christmas Book. The high-end department store’s holiday publication is celebrating its 90th year in circulation, and they’re seriously going big. Today I’m sharing seven gifts that, in my opinion, stood out from the crowd – even if their price tags admittedly make Gwyneth Paltrow's "Goop list" somehow look affordable.
1. Flute Light, Buckminster Light
I first must ask the question – who doesn't need a levitating light? I think we all do, right? Okay maybe not, but this magnetic illusion is no-doubt a conversation piece to say the least. And for that, I give it props.
2. Picard Table Tennis Table
This, my friends, is what you call a high-class ping pong game. So high-class that I think I'm going to start using its proper name, table tennis. It sounds fancier that way, wouldn’t you agree? All joking aside, this reclaimed wood, brass-accented piece of art is something to admire. The leather “net” isn’t too shabby to look at either. If I ever had $7,600 just lying around with nowhere to go, I just might have to splurge on this table tennis table. See what I did there?
3. RBT Cocktail Shaker
This brass and stainless steel cocktail shaker is actually something I might have to add to my minibar. Its timeless color scheme and practicality is almost a no-brainier.
4. Brass Metal/Black Headphones
Who needs Beats by Dre when you've got these cognac leather headphones? Another practical gift for the win. They're super stylish, so the next time I'm dancing to Spotify's top 50 playlist in my cubical, these headphones will make me just that much cooler.
5. Jewel Glasses, 4-Piece Set
Now you finally have an excuse for that fallen glass of wine. No, you're not too tipsy – these are just how they come. These glasses are truly one-of-a-kind, exclusively sold at Neiman Marcus. They come four to a set with each glass flaunting a different metallic hue.
6. Weekday Mugs, 7-Piece Set
Morning coffee just got more interesting with these weekday-themed mugs. Their classic black and white aesthetic is sure to match the style of most kitchens, while also providing light-hearted commentary with your morning cup.
7. A9 Speaker
Last but certainly not least, this mid-century modern-inspired speaker is weird, over-the-top, unnecessarily large, but also…freaking. Awesome. I'm still trying to figure out why I like it so much. While I figure that out, I'll just let you form your own opinion. Sure, it's not for everyone, but it was interesting enough to catch my eye.
