Summer may not officially begin until June 21, but for many long-time Fort Worth residents, this weekend marks the true beginning of the season.

Concerts in the Garden is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year, and it’s launching this weekend. The Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra’s month-long series kicks off this Friday night. Opening night will feature perennial favorite Pink Martini and serve as the official anniversary party.

Saturday will be the a night of Beatles’ hits, as interpreted by Classical Mystery Tour and the Fort Worth Symphony, and Sunday features the classics – in particular, Tchaikovsky’s 1812 Overture. And fireworks!

Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the concerts begin at 8:15 each night. Tickets are available for the family-friendly event on the Fort Worth Symphony’s website and cost between $22 - $50. They will also be available for purchase at the door (subject to availability) at a slightly increased price.

Children under 10 are admitted free for lawn seating and receive a discounted rate of $15 for some reserved tables. Patrons are welcome to bring picnic hampers from home, or they may pre-order appetizer trays from Central Market or purchase concessions on-site.
