Star Wars fan? Well, you may want to hold onto your seat.
Holocron Toy Store — a toy shop dedicated to all things Star Wars — will celebrate its grand opening Saturday at 3613 West Vickery Blvd. The 4,464-square-foot store carries Star Wars action figures, housewares, collectibles and other memorabilia, dating from 1977 to today. A collectibles area also carries rare items graded by the Action Figure Authority.
Though Holocron only sells Star Wars, the store buys vintage toys from both Star Wars and other lines as well, such as G.I. Joe and He-Man.
During the grand opening, visitors who spend $100 or more will be entered into a raffle to win a life-size Yoda statue. Face painting and other activities will also be onsite, and dogs are welcome to roam the store during the event. General manager Robert Fisher says the store is meant to recreate “that feeling you got as a kid when seeing the movie for the first time.”
“It's about the feeling you got Christmas day, the excitement you felt,” he says. “It's about creating an atmosphere, an environment where there is something for everyone. It's about becoming one with the force.”
