Afallon Productions — the local production company behind The Live Oak Music Hall & Lounge — had been searching for a new place to turn upside down since the venue closed in 2017. When the team found a former post office on Race Street, they decided to create a new space for the community to enjoy, brunch, lunch, happy hour, nights out — and, of course, music.
That place – The Post at River East, expected to open in April 2019.
“We love the variety and character of the existing businesses on Race Street, the unique feel of the building and being in an area with lots of residential surrounding us where we can really be part of a growing community,” Brooks Kendall, president of The Post, wrote in an email to Fort Worth Magazine.
The renovated location includes a 4,000-square-foot outside courtyard with greenery and a mix of lounge- and restaurant-style seating. The interior, spanning 2,700 square feet, will be an intimate music venue with a curtained stage and community-style seating.
The Post food menu will have sandwiches, salads and other dishes featuring housemade bread and roasted meats with seasonal vegetables. The venue will also have a bar program that will serve cocktails and local offerings.
The Post has already confirmed upcoming shows upon its opening with a lineup that will soon be released to the public.
“We are extremely excited to become a part of the River East community and to grow with our new neighbors,” Kendall said.
