From hunting for Easter eggs, running in 5Ks or going out for drinks, here are our picks for Easter weekend.
Thursday, March 29
Alex Snodgrass from foodie blog The Defined Dish will be at the chic new Elan River District apartments to eat, drink and socialize with guests. She will be sharing stories about how she found balance in eating clean and answering questions from attendees. The event is free from 5:30-7 p.m. but you do have to RSVP.
Adam Avery from Avery Brewing Co. will be at the Flying Saucer sharing stories about how to get started in the brewery industry. Avery also hand-picked seven beers for guests to enjoy with a three-course meal.
The world premiere of Martinů Pieces, a ballet by Texas Ballet Theater’s artistic director Ben Stevenson, is this weekend at Bass Performance Hall. The show opens Thursday night and runs through March 31.
Friday, March 30
Abraham Alexander is performing at the Kimbell Art Museum as part of the Kimbell Social Club series. There will also be hearty hors d'oeuvres, half-price wines, and half-price craft beer provided by HopFusion Ale Works. No reservations are required.
Saturday, March 31
Everything's bigger in Texas, including Easter egg hunts. Stockyards Station is hosting an Easter egg hunt for children 12 and younger. You can also enjoy live music, photos with the Easter Bunny, face painting and more from noon-4 p.m.
This weekend is the third annual Hungry Hound Hustle 5K that benefits Don't Forget To Feed Me Food Bank. For those who aren't runners and would rather walk with your pooch, there is a one-mile dog walk. The event will go on rain or shine at Shelter House Pavilion.
4th Annual Easter EGGstravaganza 5K & 10K
The 4th Annual Easter EGGstravaganza 5K &10K is this weekend at Trinity Park. Run off all the chocolate eggs and Easter candy in either the 5K, 10K, or EGGstra 1 Mile Fun Run. After the races, there will be an Easter Egg hunt in Trinity Park.
Sunday, April 1
In honor of Easter, Taste Community Restaurant is hosting a pay-what-you-can brunch with a special menu featuring deviled eggs, croquettes and sandwiches. The brunch will be served by a team of volunteers from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
