Get ready to hit the ice! The Trinity River Vision Authority is bringing back Fort Worth’s favorite ice-skating rink for the 2015-2016 holiday season. Panther Island Ice, the only real ice, outdoor rink in Fort Worth, will be open from Nov. 20 to Jan. 18.
Panther Island Ice will be open seven days a week including holidays such as Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve and New Year's Day.
Panther Island Ice will be located at Coyote Drive-In again this year. Admission will be $11 for skaters, which includes skate rentals. Group reservations and discounts are available for large groups of 15 or more. Visit the website for all available discounts.
Skaters can purchase seasonal food and beverages or enjoy the full menu at the Coyote Canteen.
This year, Panther Island Ice is partnering with the Tarrant Area Food Bank. Every Tuesday, any skater who brings two canned goods to the rink will receive $2 off admission.
For some extra special Christmas cheer, come out to the rink on Dec. 19 to see a fireworks show set to Christmas music to celebrate the opening weekend of the new Star Wars movie. For more events at Panther Island Ice, check out their website.
So whether you go with friends, family or that special someone, get ready to bring in the holiday in style. I mean, what says “Happy Holidays” more than ice skating? See you on the ice!
