Fort Worth continues to expand its public art portfolio. Next stop: Crockett Row at West 7th.
The West Seventh Street development announced the launch of a new public art program and is searching for artists to help. Crockett Row will be collaborating with the artists on several projects, the first being a series of three murals that will be completed this summer.
One of the murals will be outside the upcoming Food Hall at Crockett Row, while the other two will be at the Currie Street entrance of the north parking garage. Other future projects in the area include a kid-friendly wall, a social media-inspired mural, the city's first “Before I Die” wall, and a yarn bombing.
“The installation of new public art is the natural next step in Crockett Row's progression as a Cultural District destination,” Monica Bermea, the marketing director at Crockett Row, said in a statement. “We look forward to working together with many talented artists to create a one-of-a-kind outdoor gallery.”
Artists interested in working on one of the murals are encouraged to apply here.
