Fort Worth soul singer Leon Bridges's career continues to be smooth sailin'.
The Fort Worth Convention and Visitors Bureau (FWCVB) will honor the 27-year-old musician at its fourth annual meeting and breakfast on Feb. 1. Bridges will receive the FWCVB's 2017 Hospitality Award, given to a person or organization that has made a significant impact on the city's tourism industry. Previous recipients include the Cultural District and Fort Worth businessman Holt Hickman.
“Leon Bridges is an amazing ambassador for Fort Worth,” FWCVB president and CEO Bob Jameson said in a statement. “People travel to destinations where there is a vibrant cultural scene, and music is an important part of Fort Worth's story. Leon has helped put the spotlight back on Fort Worth music and share our story around the world. We are excited to honor him in his hometown.”
The FWCVB's annual meeting and breakfast will take place at the Omni Fort Worth Hotel. Five-time New York Times bestselling author Jay Baer will deliver the keynote address.
