The U.K. will soon be getting a taste of Texas music with a concert series heading out to London this week.
Local artists like Luke Wade, Joey Green and Austin Allsup are London-bound with eight other Texas musicians for the Texas Music Takeover, a seven-day concert series showcasing Texas music to the U.K. From Nov. 24 to Dec. 2, the artists will perform in venues throughout London, such as Sofar London and The Pickle Factory.
The event is produced by Fort Worth-based Rival Entertainment and sponsored by the Fort Worth Convention & Visitors Bureau (FWCVB). According to a news release by the FWCVB, Fort Worth's No. 1 source of overseas visitors is the U.K.
“There's strong interest in the Fort Worth story,” said Mitch Whitten, FWCVB vice president of marketing and tourism. “Music is an important part of the city's vibe. We are excited for the opportunity to support Fort Worth talent while promoting our city as a world-class destination.”
U.K. residents can also enter to win a trip to Fort Worth, which includes a tour of the city with Wade himself, a five-night stay at the Omni Fort Worth Hotel and concert tickets to Billy Bob's.
