Let there be light! Start the season of twinkling lights off right with the 2015 XTO Energy Parade of Lights on Nov. 22. The largest Texas holiday parade will run through Downtown Fort Worth for its 33rd year the Sunday before Thanksgiving. This year’s parade, themed “Let the Season Begin,” will feature antique cars, marching bands, equestrian units, horse-drawn carriages, troupes of carolers and more than 100 professionally-constructed floats. More than 12,000 lights will take the 1.58 mile long route winding through Downtown Fort Worth.
With all of the festive music and brilliant lights, you will be ready to start bringing in Christmas cheer. At the end of the parade, the night will conclude with the lighting of the beloved Sundance Square Christmas Tree – this will be the first time the tree has been lit since 2012.
FWISD superintendents Dr. Kent P. Scribner and Dr. Patricia A. Linares will serve as this year's parade grand marshals.
