Fort Worth is no New Orleans, but the city still knows how to celebrate Mardi Gras. Here are a few events to get the good times rolling.
Feb. 10. 8:30 a.m. The Trailhead.
A 5K on Mardi Gras weekend is one way to keep your New Year’s resolution to work out more alive. But the “Fun” part about this Fun Run is that The Beignet Bus will be waiting with a beignet for you at the finish line.
Feb. 10. Noon to 7:30 p.m. Race Street, Fort Worth.
This up-and-coming area in Fort Worth plans to kick off Mardi Gras weekend with the first annual River East Mardi Gras, featuring a parade, local vendors and live music by Squeezebox Bandits.
Feb. 10. Line-up at 2:30 p.m. 5th Avenue, Fort Worth.
The Fairmount Neighborhood will transform into a festive mini-New Orleans for the afternoon. Anyone can participate, so dress up in Mardi Gras attire and grab some beads to throw. The parade spans 1.6 miles across Fifth Avenue, Washington Avenue and Adams Street.
Feb. 13. Doors open at 7 p.m. Shipping and Receiving Bar.
This popular party is back and will be bringing in artists including Eddie Dunlap, James Hinkle, Claire Hinkle and others. The Beignet Bus will be making an appearance here too.
Feb. 13. Festivities start at 7 p.m. Landmark Bar and Kitchen.
Here’s one way to conclude your Fat Tuesday night: $3 Hurricanes, $3 Fat Tuesday Shots and $5 Premium Po Boys. Enjoy them on the patio and don’t forget to take a ride on the mechanical bull.
