Salsa Limón “Museo,” located at 929 University Drive, across from The Modern, will close in July and subsequently move to a new address in the River District at 5012 White Settlement Road. The location will change, but the classic building will not, as The Historic and Cultural Landmarks Commission approved actually picking up and moving the 1940’s diner. The building will be moved by Fort Worth based H.D. Snow & Son House Moving. They will move the entire building, literally, the whole thing.
The River District, led by Fort Worth development and investment firm Fort Capital, is a nearly 300-acre residential and commercial development near the Trinity River, located primarily between Roberts Cut Off Road and Priddy Lane along White Settlement Road. Those near the Cultural District location are still in luck. Salsa Limón plans on staying in the West 7th neighborhood, possibly even in the exact same location as part of a new development planned by Greystar. Greystar, a South Carolina-based real estate firm, is in the process of developing a project for a little slice of the Cultural District. The project, when finalized, will bring more retail and residential space to the area, and will include University Drive, Crockett Street, Norwood Street and Morton Street
Salsa Limón's new location in the River District will open sometime in September. Until then, the Salsa Limón food truck will be serving breakfast, lunch, dinner and late night food at the same University Drive address once the building is moved.
