1. Fort Worth's Fourth
Head out to Panther Island for Fort Worth's Fourth. Bring the family and the dogs free of charge. The day will be filled with live music from local bands, Gary P. Nunn, and Party Machine. Fly-board shows will go on all day long. Free tubing with life jackets and tubes provided. The Kidzone will have face painting, pony rides, water slides, bounces houses, and ziplines. And let's talk about the food for a minute. Street tacos, fried shrimp, burgers, BBQ, nachos, catfish, tamales, ice-cream, and cotton candy galore. The night will cap with the largest firework show in North Texas. Don't miss out on this one.

2. Wild Acre Brewing Co. Grand Opening
A new brewery is in town so get excited and head on over to Wild Acre because they are finally open to the public. Your $20 ticket includes three pints of Wild Acre brews and live music by Phil Pritchett and the Full Band. This will be a great way to kick off the holiday, quench your thirst, and have some fun.

3. West 7th Freedom Fest
What if I told you there was a way to give back to our troops while also partying? The West 7th Freedom Fest is an outdoor charity festival that will honor those who've served, raise awareness for veteran mental health issues, and the public on other veteran empowerment programs. Live music will be performed all day long beginning with Clete Bradley & the Mood and ending with a DJ at 11 p.m. The kids are welcome, because who else is going to head down the jumbo waterslide or hang out in the Kid's Corner? Carnival games, a mechanical bull, and a dunk tank will be waiting for you. Texas BBQ, festival fare, craft beer, and frozen drinks will make sure you stay cool all day long.
Everyone is welcome, admission is completely free.

4. The Old-Fashioned Family Fireworks Picnic
For three nights in a row, the Fort Worth Concert in the Gardens will be hosting an Old-Fashioned Family Picnic. The Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra will be keeping a patriotic tempo with military tunes and xxx. Pack a picnic, grab the kids, and spend an evening in the Botanic Gardens. Make sure you don't leave before the spectacular firework display.
Lawn tickets are $22 all three nights. For tables, prices will vary from $30-$55 July 3 and July 4.

5. Rahr & Sons Oktoberfest 5k Red, White and Brew Social Run
Rahr & Sons welcome you to run or walk, your choice, and get an early start celebrating the holiday weekend. The social run is not timed, and is about 3 miles in length – all paces welcome. For $15, you are registered for the run, get a hot breakfast, a custom pint glass, and three free beer samples. That's not bad for just $15. Plus, you get a little exercise in.

6. July Fourth Fun in the Stockyards
A short but sweet event at the Stockyards Station on the Fourth will be the perfect place to take the kids for a little family fun earlier in the day. The Stockyards has restaurants like Riscky's BBQ, Trail Boss Burgers, and Habaneros Mexican Grill for you to grab a quick bite while doing some window shopping. Horse-rides and face painting will be available for the kiddos from Noon-3 p.m., and live music will play from 1-4 p.m.

7. Billy Bob's Fourth of July Picnic
Billy Bob's is hosting their annual Fourth of July Picnic, so if you are looking for a child-free way to celebrate over the weekend, this is the place to be. This will be a night jam-packed with live country music from Mike & the Moonpies, Billy Joe Shaver, Shinyribs, and Turnpike Troubadours. The booze will be flowing freely. You'll be two-stepping to your heart's content all night long.
