1. Beastro
Come out and support local and international wildlife conservation and education efforts at the Fort Worth Zoo's annual music and tasting event taking place on May 20. Guests will get the chance to sample cuisine from the local area and wander to and from several open bars around the park while listening to live music. The Zoo is even keeping several animal exhibits open until sunset. The attire is summer chic. But, find a friend with spare ticket, Beastro tickets are sold out.
2. Trinity River Trash Bash
Register online for the second annual Spring Trinity Trash bash. Clean up begins at 8:30 a.m. where volunteers will be assigned to one of nine different locations along the Trinity River. TRWD will provide a t-shirt, gloves and bags and Camp Carter will provide light refreshments. After a few hours of hard work volunteers will be treated to free food, door prizes, and live entertainment at either Panther Island Pavilion or Cobb Park starting at 10 a.m. RSVP to Andy Hockenbrock at [email protected] with your t-shirt size so they have the right sizes for all volunteers.
3. Tacky Prom Pub Crawl
Break out those poufy dresses or that powder blue suit and get ready to dance the night away at Fort Worth's tacky prom and pub crawl. For $10 you get the chance to relive your glory days and recreate your prom all to benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters of Fort Worth. The Party starts at 7:30 p.m. at Landmark bar where there will be a professional photographer to document those awkward prom pictures. At 9:00 p.m. hop to Bar Louie where you will be able to vote for your pick for Prom King and Queen. The Social House is one of the last stops of the night. A dance floor will be open at 10:30 p.m. and the King and Queen for the night will be announced. The fun is only over when the fat lady sings. After the Social House head to The Varsity for the official prom after party.
4. Flying Saucer: Craft Beer Week
Enjoy American Craft Beer week at Flying Saucer. The bar will be hosting a variety of events over the weekend. On Friday listen to live music as you sample rare brews. Saturday offers a wing eating competition and Sunday ends the week with $3 pints of beer.
5. Mamma Mia
Don't miss the lastest broadway production to come to Bass Performance Hall. Mamma Mia will be here from May 20 - May 22. No judgement if you feel the need to stand up and sing along to ABBA.
6. Whiskey Wednesday
It's dinner and a show. Enjoy live music this wednesday starting at 7:00 p.m on the Live Oak roof top. Not only can you snag a great burger, but you can also listen to the local talent. This show is open to all ages and is free.
7. Yoga in the Square
Before you head off to brunch, get your workout in on the plaza by taking a free Yoga class. Starting at 8:30 a.m. Sundance square turns into your own outdoor yoga center. All you need to bring is your friends and a yoga mat.
