With coffee drinkers sipping on red cups, merry music playing through the town and holiday promotions popping up everywhere, it already feels like it is time to start the Christmas countdown. But, we are missing one thing. No, not Thanksgiving! Who can wait that long to start singing carols anyway?
This Monday, the 59-foot blue spruce Christmas tree made its way to its holiday home in the center of Sundance Square’s plaza. Sundance Square CEO Johnny Campbell, Fort Worth Mayor Betsy Price and Fort Worth City Council Representative Ann Zadeh joined together to help guide the tree from a flatbed truck into its proper stand.
After the tree is secured, a team of decorators will spend the week placing nearly 6,000 LED lights on the tree’s branches in a traditional nutcracker motif.
These decorators will be working hard ensuring that every light is in place for the official tree lighting on Sunday, Nov. 22. The lighting will take place immediately after the XTO Parade of Lights through downtown.
We are so excited that it is just about time to celebrate all things Christmas. Just knowing it’s almost time to make this season all about decking the halls and ringing jingle bells makes us want to put up our own stockings and write letters to Santa.
Don’t miss your chance to be one of the first to see this year’s tree this upcoming Monday!
Don't forget to enter to win a $250 gift card to ACE Hardware, brought to you by DFW Lights. This contest will last through Nov. 30, 2015.
