Thursday, April 5
Sparkman Cellar Tasting , 6:30-8:30 p.m.
Kent & Co. is hosting Chris Sparkman from Sparkman Cellars, who will be showcasing eight different wines for a special wine tasting event. Chris will share the story of each wine, and Heim BBQ will provide food. Tickets are $45, and the event is from 6:30-8:30 p.m.
Friday, April 6
Pinstripes Grand Opening, 6-9 p.m.
Pinstripes opens this weekend at The Shops at Clearfork. To celebrate, there will be free drinks, hors d'oeuvres, bowling, bocce and live music.
Main at South Side is hosting a Barista Jam, celebrating Avoca Coffee Roasters' birthday. The all-night show features acts like Jake Paleschic, VVoes, Schuyler Stapleton, Starbass Laboratories, FAKE, Eder Meza, Annie Void, Austin Kroll, and 5th Column with Tad Ezell, and DJ sets between acts by Pop Boy ETC. Tickets are $5, and the event is open to all ages.
The Falling and The Rising, 7 p.m.
The world premiere of The Falling and The Rising, an opera that tells the stories of American soldiers, takes place at TCU’s Ed Landreth Hall and Auditorium. It’s a project co-commissioned by TCU, the U.S. Department of Defense and several opera companies around the U.S. Casts from the TCU Opera Studio and Soldiers’ Chorus of the United States Army Field Band will alternate performances. The show runs through Sunday. Admission is free but requires a ticket.
Saturday, April 7
Fort Worth Zoo Run, 6:30-9:15 a.m.
Ever wanted to run through the zoo? Now you can. The 21st Annual Fort Worth Zoo Run is this weekend. Run, jog or walk through the zoo and its surrounding neighborhoods during the 5K. All participants get a T-shirt included with the registration fee.
Brew N Que, National Beer Day, 4 p.m.
Celebrate National Beer Day at The Yard. The Brew N Que event will have barbecue, live music, games and, of course, beer, to spend National Beer Day the right way.
Yoga in the Plaza is back for the season. The free event is open to yogis of all levels.
Flowercade & Iris Show, Saturday, Noon-6 p.m. and Sunday 1-5 p.m.
The free annual flower show at the Fort Worth Botanic Garden is back. The theme this year: Circus Fair Fun. The Fort Worth Rose Society and Fort Worth Iris Society will be staging flowers, and visitors will have the chance to purchase plants, rose bushes and other garden items.
Spend your Saturday afternoon smelling roses and tasting rosé at WineHaus. Alice's Table will be there to help you create a flower arrangement to take home, and WineHaus will have a sommelier who has chosen a special rosé for the occasion.
