What originated as a college campus party has turned into a prolific live music event that is coming to Fort Worth this weekend. It is bringing gallons of paint along with it.
The Life in Color ‘X' Tour — an electronic dance music concert known for dousing the audience in paint throughout the performance — will be at Panther Island Pavilion this Saturday, Sept. 30, starting at 7 p.m. Performers for the Fort Worth show include 3Lau, Bonnie X Clyde, Elephante and Quix. This is the first time Life in Color has taken place at Panther Island Pavilion.
Hailing from Florida, where it began in 2007, the event, dubbed “The World's Largest Paint Party,” has since brought talent and 13,000 gallons of paint to over 70 cities and 18 various countries. DJs like Calvin Harris and Major Lazer have performed for Life in Color. With international tours and an annual festival in Miami, Life in Color sells upward of 250,000 tickets annually. Its events occasionally feature acts like soaring aerial performers, stilt walkers, contortionists and fire shows.
According to Life in Color's website, the paint used is water based, latex-free and will wash off of skin. However, guests are encouraged to wear all white clothes they won't mind getting paint on because it may stain certain fabrics. They should also wear something to protect their eyes and find a way to protect their phones. Outside paint, professional cameras and large bags are not allowed inside the event.
