After moving from state to state, one western wear company is permanently settling down in west Fort Worth.
That's Schaefer Outfitter, which is celebrating its 35th anniversary with the grand opening of its first-ever storefront and flagship location in Fort Worth on Nov. 11. The store is located at 6715 Corporation Parkway, Suite A, along Interstate 20, about 15 minutes west of downtown.
Originally hailing from Jackson Hole, Wyoming, Schaefer has since moved to locations like Steamboat Springs, Colorado; Las Cruces, New Mexico; and Houston. After record-breaking sales at the Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo, owner and manager Rick Grant decided to move to Fort Worth permanently.
Schaefer will boast more than 90 styles of Texas-made western and outdoor wear, all manufactured in El Paso. The store will carry items like clothing, headwear, ranch tools, and bags made from genuine American Bison leather.
“I see the move to Fort Worth as being a major asset to our brand…we're finally home," Grant said in a statement. "It only seems fitting that the largest Texas-made western apparel brand be located in Cowtown, USA."
