I think I'm in good company when I say Fort Worth is a casual town. In fact, that's one of the things I love most about this city. We're laid back, yet stylish all at the same time. We don't over-do ourselves when it comes to a night out on the town, grabbing a quick brunch, or even when it comes to attending a local festival. Ripped jeans, sneakers and a hat has been my go-to wardrobe these days. I mean, we've got better things to do than over-gloss and tease our locks, am I right?
So now that festival season is in full swing, what kind of fashion will we see? Let's explore.
Plain White Tee

Who doesn't love the look of a simple v-neck? Throw on a white tee, like this one from Esther Penn, along with some comfy shorts and you’ve got yourself an instant festival look. I like to pair this outfit with some sneakers, like these here. If you’re not impressed with this simple look, add a fedora or fringe bag to spice things up. And if you’re feeling really fancy, replace those sneakers with a pair of ankle boots.
Pattern Play
Mixing patterns can quickly turn into a disaster if done wrong, but when it's done right, you will be the the talk of the town. Or shall I say, talk of the festival. Mix patterns that complement each other, like this duo from Beehive. The color pallete remains neutral, yet the contrasting weight of the stripe allows the outfit to come together flawlessly.
White Out
It's finally getting warmer outside, which means our once snow-white skin is turning into a warm summery glow. Embrace those new tan lines with an all-white ensemble. This look from Pax & Parker is one of my favorites. It has a little bit of festival flair with the crochet inset and tassel trim, but it’s not over-the-top by any means.
Crop It Up
If you're wanting to go one step further into the festival trends of the past few years (think a scaled-back Coachella) a crop top is just the look for you. No, it doesn't have to be super revealing, in fact, I actually prefer a more conservative look, but a simple crop top paired with high-waisted shorts will go a long way.
So what are your thoughts? With festivals like Mayfest, Taco Fest, Bites & Flights, and the Trinity River Paddle Fest coming up (just to name a few), will you be embracing some of these Fort Worth-friendly fashion trends?
