A new store has made its way to the West Seventh area.
MOVE Athleisure kicked off its grand opening Thursday with a live DJ, cocktails and hors d'oeuvres. Cousins and TCU alumna Kara Baker and Kat Cochran opened the store at 3244 West Seventh St.
Cochran said the main focus of the store is “athletic” material, but the definition of “athletic” has evolved from sportswear to “what you wear every day.”
“When people come into the store we want them to feel like they're going to their friend's house; you can come and hang out,” she said. “I feel like there is something for everybody and not just everybody, but every body in here. “
The 1,200-square-foot space has a wide array of items to purchase, including yoga pants, purses, and menswear. Many of the brands featured in the store also give back to charities. Baker says MOVE Athleisure is a place for people to feel comfortable while shopping for brands that are not well known.
“We want everybody to realize there is more to life than big brands,” Baker said. “There is still customer service; there is still a boutique you can walk in and find something. There are so many [clothing] lines that are out there.”
