Hair stylist Sara DeBusk once ran a salon suite with her sister — until one day, her sister unexpectedly suffered a severe asthma attack, leading to her near death and an extended period of hospitalization. During this time, DeBusk's and her sister's clients showed overwhelming support, sending flowers and offering assistance. DeBusk, recalling the experience, described this communal effort as the working of a “tribe.”

During this time, DeBusk's and her sister's clients showed overwhelming support, sending flowers and offering assistance. DeBusk, recalling the experience, described this communal effort as the working of a “tribe.”
With this, Tribe Salon FTW was born.
“We're not just stylists … or people filling a chair. We're all working together. We're really part of a tribe,” says DeBusk, whose sister has since recovered.
Tribe Salon FTW, a full-service hair salon located at 6323 Camp Bowie Blvd., Ste. 149, officially opened its doors Monday. Tribe offers an all-in-one beauty experience, expanding beyond all things hair (cut, color, extensions, Brazilian blowouts) to also include treatments by a massage therapist, a cosmetic aesthetician and a medical aesthetician.
Central to Tribe's mission is support of local Fort Worth vendors, not only utilizing local businesses in the physical building and designing process of the salon but also selling locally crafted goods including jewelry, candles and bath products.
DeBusk says she “wanted to create a place where you can come into work and feel proud about where you work and [about] everyone you're working with” — a place where guests leave “feeling more beautiful than [they] felt coming in, inside and out.”
