Sick of the same old New Year resolutions? Sure, everyone wants to lose weight, eat healthier and save money, but sometimes those don't always happen. Today I thought it would be helpful to share a few realistic goals to set for 2016.
1. Clean Out Your Closet
Ready to get that messy closet in order? Getting ready in the morning just isn't the same when my closet is a mess. I try to make a Goodwill trip at least twice a year with clothes I haven't worn in a while. Once I start that process, by the end of the afternoon, my closet is somehow clean again (and also color coded). It makes my mornings so much more efficient becuase I'm actually able to quickly see my favorite pieces without having to sift through a ton of old items. 2. Finish That Lingering DIY Project
We all have that one DIY project that we just can't seem to ever get done. It's been lingering over our heads for most of last year, and for some reason or another the motivation to get it done simply isn't there. Whether it be a DIY chalkboard wall for your kitchen, a never-ending bathroom renovation or something as small as updating a few fixtures around the house, we think it's time to tackle these DIYs once and for all. I promise, you'll feel much better once they're all checked off your to-do list.
3. Drink More Water
Ok let's just all admit it, none of us drink enough water. We just don't. With so many tasty drinks tempting us on a day to day basis (like soda, tea, coffee etc.) where does water seem to fit in?
If you don't love the flavor (or lack thereof) that water provides, simply add a few mixers like I do. I've also started trying things like flavored sparkling water and that seems to mix it up a bit too. For a few extra tips, below are some articles that will take you that extra step:

4. Set Aside Monthly Dates
As hard as it might be to set aside some time for your significant other, we all need it. We fell in love for a reason, right? Between work, kids, and life in general, sometimes that time alone is the only way to get back to the "old you". Plan a monthly date (at a minimum) and get out of the house. The date doesn't have to be over-the-top by any means. As long as you have some time alone as a couple, that's what matters the most.
5. Make (or try) One New Recipe Per Month
I personally get stuck in a rut when it comes to cooking. I don't love going grocery shopping and I especially don't love planning extravagant meals. But one thing I do love it trying new things. Yes, I have to force myself to do it, but when I do, the outcome is usually worth the risk. So even if you don't love going to the store, or planning out a new meal, the result just might be worth it.
6. Digitize Your Filing System

A lot of us struggle with digitizing our life. Some of us still want to print everything out on paper and others will only save things on "the cloud." I actually practice a balance of the two, but I'm hoping in 2016 I will go 100% digital. Below are a few articles that will help you decide how to start your new digital-only journey.
