We've had a few days to cook since Saturday's 63-0 win against Jackson State and, yes, we're definitely still thinking about it.
If anything, it was a win that put Frog fans' preseason worries to rest and, hopefully, served as a foreshadowing of what the rest of the season (and maybe future seasons?) could bring.
Here are a few things we observed from Saturday:
1. Kenny Hill is more consistent, indeed.
The Tuesday before the game, quarterback Kenny Hill expressed a desire to be more consistent this season. And consistent he was, completing 18-of-23 passes, including four touchdowns. In typical Kenny Hill fashion, he also remained light on his feet, showing more precision out of the pocket. No question here -- Hill is here to stay as the starter.
2. And this Shawn Robinson guy. He's pretty good too.
Highly touted freshman quarterback Shawn Robinson entered the game midway through the third quarter and led the Frogs to yet another scoring drive, tossing a 56-yard pass to wide receiver TraVontae Hights. Needless to say, it was a pretty good look for the guy who led DeSoto High School to the state championship in 2016 and has received nothing but accolades and high hopes since then. Many even say Robinson is the future of TCU. Maybe, if he keeps playing the way he did Saturday night.

3. Keep an eye on this run game.
Before the season started, TCU players were quick to praise the running backs on the team. Against Jackson State, the run game was as advertised, as the Frogs rushed for 242 yards and a touchdown -- and that's without top rusher Kyle Hicks, who sat out due to injury. As showcased by freshman running back Kenedy Snell (whose first collegiate touch was a touchdown) in the opening drive, precise footwork and elusiveness are what's making the difference.

4. And don't blink, because this offense is quick.
TCU's offense as a whole is driving the ball down the field noticeably quicker than last season -- almost reminiscent of the way the 2014 team used to play. The team is spreading the ball around too, as 14 receivers recorded a catch that evening. It seems the Frogs have developed a rhythm that still has room for improvement.
5. The defense is electric.
Havoc is what sets a defense apart from others, and against Jackson State, TCU wreaked it. The defense was responsible for five sacks and even scored two touchdowns on its own. Safety Ridwan Issahaku had perhaps the best night with both a sack and a pick six.
6. The kids are all right.
The performances of the freshmen players should get Frog fans excited for future years. Names like Robinson and Snell, along with receiver Jalen Reagor, would be worth keeping tabs on.
