The holidays are one of the most popular times to get engaged, according to The Washington Post; and if you happen to be one of those people who said “yes,” your New Year's resolutions look a little something like finding a dress, picking a caterer and booking a venue.
Here's one place that'll cover at least two of those three things — Lucky Spur Ranch & Retreat. Before you take the 45-minute drive to see the ranch, here's a quick look at the property:
The locale:
Lucky Spur is located in Justin, Texas — that's less than an hour from Fort Worth. The ranch itself spans 56 acres, and the vibe is rustic-chic. Think wood paneled buildings, rolling hills and quiet creeks.
The ceremony:
The ceremony takes place outdoors on an open lawn, nestled between trees and open sky. After exchanging vows at the altar modeled from wood beams and stone, take a short walk to the reception barn for the party.
The reception:
The climate-controlled barn seats 400 guests and offers a pavilion that accommodates an additional 200. After two-stepping in the ballroom, head to Lucky Spur's old-fashioned saloon, which boasts a 12-foot full-service bar where you can listen to music and play a game or two of pool. Finish the evening off in a nearby courtyard, relaxing by the fire pit.
The food:
Lucky Spur has an on-site kitchen that allows for in-house catering. The chefs can do anything from Tex-Mex fajitas to prime rib, but the menu can be customized however you'd like.
The weekend:
So you want to explore the rest of the ranch after the wedding. Guests can book a Lucky Spur Ranch Weekend Package for exclusive use of the ranch from Friday to Monday, overnight accommodations, brunch on Saturday and Sunday, a stocked fish pond, and skeet shooting.
The cabins, which can sleep around 25 people, boast luxury of their own, decorated with ropes, saddles and other nods to the West, and offering amenities like full kitchens and high-definition TVs.
