How a Kissing Booth is Helping Local Animals This February

Helping out animals is now as easy as giving your pooch a smooch.

Throughout February, on Saturdays and Sundays from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m., the “Pooches & Smooches” kissing booth is open at Waterside, Fort Worth’s newly opened mixed-use property at Bryant Irvin Road and Arborlawn Drive. The booth is located next to Whole Foods near the Community Promotion Shed. Participants can take a photo with their pets in the kissing booth and, in exchange, provide a suggested $5 donation to the animal organization that’s on-site at the time.

Every weekend a different local animal group will be present to collect donations and hold on-site adoptions. Don’t Forget to Feed Me Pet Food Bank will be at the booth every weekend to accept donations as well.

The schedule of participating organizations is as follows:

Feb. 4: Humane Society of North Texas

Feb. 5: Saving Hope and DFW Lab Rescue

Feb. 11: Don’t Forget to Feed Me

Feb. 12: Good Neighbor Animal Rescue

Feb. 18: Don’t Forget to Feed Me, Saving Hope and DFW Lab Rescue

Feb. 19: Delta Hearts of Gold Pet Therapy Group and DFW Lab Rescue

Feb. 25: Humane Society of North Texas

Feb. 26: Cody’s Friend’s Rescue

The program encourages participants to use the hashtag #poochessmooches! on social media when sharing kissing booth photos.
