Boys & Girls Clubs of Fort Worth and Arlington celebrated its merger on Oct. 4, forming Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Tarrant County.
The youth development organizations have more than 150 years of community service and will now serve 22,000 youth in the Metroplex.
Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Tarrant County will retain 290 employees with a $10.6 million annual budget to enhance its youth development programs and expand into areas of need.
“One of our key objectives is to take what is working in either organization and spread it throughout the other locations in the new organization over time,” CEO and president Daphne Barlow Stigliano said. “We have an incredible opportunity to help amplify the voices of teens in our community and work with them to find new ways to meet their needs for career and college readiness.”
The increasing rates of working parents creates a demand for high-quality after-school and summer programs for children and teens. The Boys & Girls Club of Greater Tarrant County will provide service for both children and teens.
“The merger is fundamentally born out of our hope to do more for kids and teens. This aspiration is creating the largest Boys & Girls Club in Texas and is strategically positioning the organization to serve more families,” Stigliano said. “Because we are combining our resources, we will become more efficient and capable of better supporting our staff who work with youth every day.”
