Well, Halloween is over. And that only means one thing…
It's. Christmas. Time. (We know Thanksgiving comes first, but still.)
And just in time for the holidays, the toy store planned for Sundance Square has set a grand opening date – Nov. 12.
Houston Street Toy Company, which will be located on Houston Street between Overland Sheepskin Company and Five Guys Burgers and Fries, will host a grand opening event that day from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m., according to Sundance Square Marketing Director Tracy Gilmour. Some of the activities include a prize drawing, face painting and story time, as well as a visit from a balloon artist and the Sugar Plum Fairy from The Nutcracker, courtesy of the Texas Ballet Theater.
The store is still finishing up construction, but once it's finished, the 1,843-square-foot space will be filled with plush animals, arts and crafts, musical and educational toys, books, and puzzles among other items. According to Gilmour, the store will have a soft opening around Nov. 9.
Houston Street Toy Company is owned by Lindsey Ross, who also owns the Schakolad Chocolate Factory in Sundance Square.
