We often deem a student's academic success in conjunction with a thriving, well-rounded student life as the key factors that result in a large return on a college investment.
While these factors certainly lend hand to that outcome, the nature and availability of resources and guidance of an institution are also crucial in determining the value of one's education.
Faculty and staff are very influential in paving the path and foundation for opportunities that will encourage students to aim higher, gain more perspective and invest in new experiences.
When the needs of an institution's faculty and staff are being met, from networking to resources, the needs of the students can be further met. After all, isn't that what every college and university should strive for?
Good news for the Horned Frog family.
We're learning students aren't the only ones gaining a heavy return on their experience at Texas Christian University.
For the fifth consecutive year, The Chronicle of Higher Education honors Texas Christian University among the 2015 list of “Great Colleges to Work For.”
“It is a great privilege to be recognized as one of the ‘Great Colleges to Work For,'” said TCU Chancellor Victor J. Boschini Jr. “It is especially meaningful as this recognition comes directly from our faculty and staff. TCU strives for excellence in all it does, and it is rewarding to be acknowledged for those efforts.”
Texas Christian University was the only institution on the list recognized for all 12 categories:
Collaborative Governance
Compensation and Benefits
Confidence in Senior Leadership
Diversity
Facilities, Workspace and Security
Job Satisfaction
Professional/Career Development Programs
Respect and Appreciation
Supervisor/Department Chair Relationship
Teaching Environment
Tenure Clarity and Process
Work/Life Balance
It doesn't stop there.
TCU holds the No. 76 spot among Top 100 Universities by U.S. News & World Report. Great successes have been achieved by the university through its partnership with University of North Texas Health Science Center in launching TCU’s new M.D. school.
More leaps are being made toward expanding and enhancing TCU's strategic plan Vision in Action: The Academy of Tomorrow. The plan further extends opportunities for the university to "focus on key areas that will improve the academic profile of the University’s students, maintain a healthy national student enrollment and construct academic and residential facilities that support faculty, students and programs."
More reasons to say "Go Frogs!"
