Construction is coming along on West Seventh Street’s Elan Crockett Row apartment complex, which recently opened its pre-leasing office between University Drive and Norwood Street.

The pre-leasing office features a full kitchen mockup so prospective residents can take a look and see features of the apartment complex, where potential residents can begin moving March 2019.

The complex will contain 380 units and feature two restaurants, Fort Worth’s Salsa Limón and Italian restaurant Mio Nonno.

The developer of the new apartment complex is Greystar Real Estate Partners, and the architects are from Meeks + Partners based in Houston.

“You’re close to downtown, you’re close to TCU, you’re close to some of the major employers that are in this area of Fort Worth,” Greystar senior director of development, JR Thulin, said. “But you’re also close to all of the entertainment venues here in Fort Worth, so we think it’s a very happy marriage in this region of the city.”

In the highly concentrated area of West Seventh Street, the city along with property owners have worked to create a solution to traffic by changing two-way streets to one-way streets. This past summer, Morton Street, Bledsoe Street, Norwood Street and Foch Street were all converted from two-way to one-way streets.

“By adding the one-way streets, it’s become safer,” Thulin says. “It’s more walkable, and we actually think that the traffic will flow better because there won’t be the confusion and congestion.”

The Elan Crockett Row apartments are Greystar’s third development in the Fort Worth area.

“We love this town,” Thulin said. “We’re happy to be here.”
