Did you all have a wonderful extra long holiday weekend? We sure did! Ours was filled with relaxation, hanging by the pool, and spending our Fourth with close friends, burger grilling and watching fireworks...the professional ones and our own driveway friendly versions.
And it's a good thing we didn't burn down the hood, or get a $2000 fine for becoming little hoodlum pyros for the night!
Ok, all kidding aside, here are some fun patriotic entertaining ideas that Angela Weaver submitted to So Fort Worth It! She just started an exciting business right here in Fort Worth named C & H Events. These photos are from the small family cookout they did at home before heading out to the Concerts in the Garden Fireworks show.
Raspberry blue lemonade with frozen strawberries compliment the sweet sandwich treats piled onto the scalloped cake stand, and who can miss the darling watermelon straw pops in the mason jar. The perfect display on an old Coke crate pulls it all together.
These precious homemade mini cherry pies with Bluebell Vanilla are topped off with a sugared pie crust star. Just looking at these desserts are making my mouth water! Don't forget to LIKE her on FB!

Every year the Monticello neighborhood puts on a big parade and shindig in the park. Although we didn't attend this year, we have celebrated with the "neighborhood next door" in years past! It's fun to see how creative people get when it comes to decorating their cars and golf carts! Enjoy these great photos, compliments of the Monticello FB page.
Although I didn't recognize any of the families in the pictures above, I did recognize this wonderful family. Gotta love me some Firestone's AND their crazy good whisky too! If you don't have a bottle of this stuff in your home bar, you are missing out!
And just as I was putting all of these pictures up, I had to dig through my own photos to try and find our pictures of the parade from several years back. It brought back lots of fond memories, and I now regret not getting my crap together to head on over to Monticello last Thursday morning. My cousin Cami and her husband James live there and the Mimosa's and Bloody Mary's start flowing at 8:30am every year on this day. We had a grand time tricking out the wagons' and bike buggy's. I'm laughing out loud as I look at these, remembering Jason riding the bike from our neighborhood to the hood next door. He was quite a spectacle cruising down Hillcrest and Crestline. Lot's of rubber necking from passerby's.
And last, but not least, I'm sure your wondering what I whipped up to take over to our friends house for grilling and Fourth of July fun. Simple and easy. Chips and dips, along with my favorite J Rae cookies! And don't forget the hostess thank you gifts!
