Heroes Weekend at the Fort Worth Zoo

Heroes Weekend at the Fort Worth Zoo

The Fort Worth Zoo is proud to announce the third annual Heroes Weekend, presented by Wells Fargo, an event honoring veterans, reserve and active duty personnel of the United States military as well as our first responders on Friday, Nov. 9 through Sunday, Nov. 11 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month in 1918 – that’s when World War I ended. In 1919, President Woodrow Wilson declared Nov. 11 the first-ever Armistice Day, what we now celebrate as Veterans Day. At the Fort Worth Zoo, we will be celebrating Veterans Day all weekend long, honoring all veterans, living and dead, and their service to our country.

Veterans, reserve and active duty personnel of the United States military as well as all first responders will receive free admission for themselves and one guest. Up to four additional tickets can be purchased with a discount of $2 off the regular price. This offer is only valid for Heroes Weekend, Nov. 9 through Nov. 11, and tickets must be purchased at the front gate. (This offer is not available online.)
While Heroes Weekend is an event honoring veterans, reserve and active duty personnel of the United States military and our first responders, all guests are welcome to enjoy the Zoo and celebrate those who serve or have served our country. Patriotic-themed animal enrichment activities will take place throughout the weekend. Zoo guests will pay regular price for admission. More details can be found at www.fortworthzoo.org/heroes-weekend.
