Sixth Annual Kids in the Kitchen Health Fair
Junior League of Fort Worth Hosts Sixth Annual Kids in the Kitchen Health Fair. Free Event Provides Health and Wellness Resources for Families
The Junior League of Fort Worth’s annual Kids in the Kitchen Health Fair is Saturday, March 3 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Billingsley Field House. Fort Worth families can attend this free health fair featuring kid-friendly health and wellness activities, information about affordable health and wellness resources in the community and free groceries donated by the Tarrant Area Food Bank.
Fort Worth families can benefit from in-kind food and other donations from over 20 partner vendors including Cook Children's, The Daniel Migael Foundation, The First Tee, FitWorth, Fort Worth Fire Department, JPS and UNT Health Science Center.
In addition to the health fair, the Junior League of Fort Worth has partnered with Fort Worth ISD schools, Western Hills Primary, Western Hills Elementary, Rivertree Academy, Eastern Hills Elementary and Como Elementary to provide elementary students with one week of wellness-related curriculum leading up to the health fair.
Since the first health fair in 2012, Kids in the Kitchen has served more than 5,000 families in the community. This year, Kids in the Kitchen will be impacting 2,100 kids through FWISD schools and hopes to impact 500 families during the health fair. Kids in the Kitchen is generously sponsored by Mayfest.

Kids in the Kitchen is an international Junior League program that promotes children’s healthy eating and living. The program began almost 10 years ago to fight against the epidemic of childhood obesity, and is now active in 200 locations around the world. The goal of Kids in the Kitchen is to empower children and their families to make healthy lifestyle choices and help reverse the growth of childhood obesity and its associated health issues.
