What does beauty mean to you?
Beauty to me is so much more than how you look on the outside and it is truly something that comes from within your heart. My grandmother has always taught me, “pretty is, as pretty does.” I have always been a firm believer in that.
Who is your beauty/style icon?
I would have to say that I have always loved Audrey Hepburn and have admired her classy style. To this day she is infamous for the LBD (little black dress) that every woman should own! Her movies also showed her many different looks. You could see her in a gown or in her signature cropped pants. Her carefree elegance was something to be admired and she will always be someone who I will turn to for that classic look.
Who is your female role model, and why?
My BB (grandmother, yet she refuses to be called that). She inspires me in so many ways and has overcome so many obstacles in her life. She is one of the strongest, most beautiful women inside and out, both physically and mentally. She is the definition of who I strive to be each and every day and I hope that one day I am half the grandmother, mother and wife that she is. She is truly the foundation of our family and I am so thankful to have her be a positive influence in my life.
What are your hobbies?
This may be cliché, but I will admit I LOVE shopping and have a serious shoe addiction!! I also really enjoy being crafty and decorating. You will usually stumble upon (or more likely pass) me on the trinity trails, as I love to jog out there often. I also enjoy doing anything that involves my family and friends. I also am a big foodie and you will probably catch me at the newest/ go to spot in Fort Worth! (hence why I slightly enjoy my numerous runs on the trails).
Tell us an interesting fact about yourself.
I absolutely LOVE doing anything outdoors!!! Don't let the heels fool you- I am actually a pretty decent golfer and often play with clients and co –workers. I also drive it from the men's tee! I always love seeing their expressions when it flies down the green. Though my stance may be unconventional, it gets it where it needs to be (usually past theirs).
Why did you choose Fort Worth?
I have always loved the Fort Worth area as there is always something to do! You can never be bored in Fort Worth. You can literally do anything from kayaking the trinity by day, to going to the world's largest honkey tonk at night! There is never a dull moment here, and for someone like me who is constantly going, it fits well with my personality! Not to mention how gorgeous and big Fort Worth has grown over the past few years!
What is your favorite thing about Fort Worth?
My favorite thing about Fort Worth is how kind people are! Literally, you can't walk the streets downtown without a complete stranger stopping and giving a nice, “How are you,” around here. We still have that small town vibe in a big city. I also love the fact of how laid back the environment is here, and that you can wear cowboy boots any day of the week without getting a strange look. Fort Worth has become SO diverse over these last few years!! There are literally places for everyone to go: Stockyards, Cultural District, Sundance Square and Magnolia Street and it's just expanding more and more each and every day.
What do you consider your best feature or characteristic? (physical or non-physical)
I would have to say my best feature is my caring heart for others. Everyday I make it my goal to try and make someone's day whether being an ear to listen to or just giving a smile to a complete stranger. You never know what someone may be going through and how simple something like that can make someone's day. I also am known to be pretty dang funny and witty (so they say) and love making people laugh!!!
