Get to Know Kaylyn:
Occupation:
Business owner, Tan 2 Glow
What does beauty mean to you?
To me, beauty is less about the way something or someone looks and more about the way they make you feel.
Who is your beauty/style icon?
Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge.
Who is your female role model, and why?
Licia Ronzulli, the Italian member of the European Parliament known for bringing her daughter to the Parliament's sessions. She first brought her daughter when she was only 44 days old as a symbolic gesture to support more rights for women in reconciling work and family life. She represents the modern day woman who strives to be successful, while still placing her family in the forefront. It is a delicate balance and I admire Licia for advocating for women's rights in the workplace and for exemplifying a powerful, successful woman and Mommy. She currently serves as vice-chair and brings her 2 year old daughter to session. Did I mention that she's also brave?
What are your hobbies?
Life can be hectic as a mom of three, wife and business owner. When I can find the time, I enjoy experimenting with new recipes, trying new restraunts in town, and watching superhero movies with my step-son.
Tell us an interesting fact about yourself.
I am half Japanese.
Why did you choose Fort Worth?
I met my husband and his son in Fort Worth in 2008 and they quickly stole my heart. My husband was born and raised in Fort Worth and has both a business and family here. Within a year, I made Fort Worth my home. I have fallen in love with this city — the culture, tradition, historical homes, landmarks and art — I could go on and on!
What is your favorite thing about Fort Worth?
Fort Worth is a great place to raise a family and I love that! There is always something fun and family friendly to do in Fort Worth.
What do you consider your best feature or characteristic? (physical or non-physical)
My sense of determination is my best characteristic. My no-quit attitude has helped me persevere through tough situations and achieve my goals.
