What does beauty mean to you?
I believe that everyone's beauty is unique and random. It includes personality and what consists on the inside. It's the ability to have compassion for life and for others. It's how you treat others and how you present yourself as an individual. Beauty is accepting yourself and being confident in your values and beliefs. It's the willingness to accept yourself for you are and accepting others for who they are. Beauty is a state a mind! Everyone has beauty and everyone has faults, and beauty is being able to smile through those faults.
What are your hobbies?
I am a cheerleader at Texas Tech University. I have been tumbling and participating in competitive cheer since I was 3 years old. I like to hunt and fish. I enjoy rifle and bow shooting. I started taking an interest in hunting as a sport when I was 9 years old. I feel very fortunate to be able to continue my hobbies while I am continuing my education.
Tell us an interesting fact about yourself?
I've rescued over 100 dogs. Me and my mom started dog rescue when I was in high school. We saw a post on Facebook and that was all it took. We took in dogs from high kill shelters, stray dogs, unwanted dogs ... well, any dogs. We would clean them up, vet them, and find them a perfect home. YES.... I did get attached to each little fur baby!!! But I do have one special chihuahua I call my own, Nemo!
Why did you choose Fort Worth?
I grew up in Cleburne, Texas. I spent a lot of time with my grandparents in Granbury, Texas while growing up. Both of which were smaller towns. We would always drive up to Fort Worth to eat, shop and play because Fort Worth always had more to offer. When I finish college I intend to come back to Fort Worth. I like the diversity and the down home laid back attitude that you encounter in Fort Worth. To me, Fort Worth is the perfect blend of a safe small town community and laid back city with a variety of opportunities and entertainment.
What is your favorite thing about Fort Worth?
I like the variety Fort Worth has to offer. One of my favorite things is the Stockyards of course. It offers a feeling and entertainment that can't be duplicated. It holds a lot of memories of going there as a kid with family and friends, getting corn nuggets at Riscky's and candy from the barrels at the candy store. I like the direction that sun dance square has taken and thegrowth and development of Montgomery Plaza and 7th Street. There is so much diversity in Ft Worth that can be accessed within just a few minutes drive from each other. And that is my most favorite thing about this wonderful small town city.
What do you consider your best feature or characteristic?
I feel like my best characteristic is my diversity. I am definitely a girly girl but at the same time I can be my dads favorite son he never had. My collection of makeup, clothes and shoes is unimaginable, but I love to throw on tennis shoes and shorts and play a game of volleyball or flag football. I love getting my hair done and shop 'til I drop but at the same time I can tuck away my credit cards and play with little kids and be a role model promoting sports and outdoors. I've grown up tumbling and cheering and I am fortunate to cheer on the Red Raiders from the sidelines with my best friends, but I'd equally like to just throw on some camo and go hunting or cast a fishing rod with my best guys friends. There are so many different things I enjoy and I believe that has made a positive impact on my upbringing and values.
My female role model and why?
My female role model who have to be my mom. I look up to her in everything I do. She is my best friend and the person I can go to about anything. She is always there for me whenever I need her, whether I am at home with her, or at school in Lubbock she will drop anything to be there for me no matter the circumstances. Growing up, she always made sure I had everything I needed and would go above and beyond for me, I can only hope to be the type of mom she is someday!
My beauty/style icon?
My fashion icon is definitely Lauren Conrad. From watching her transform from a reality star on the Hills at the age of 20 to becoming an owner of her own fashion line in 2015, she is a great example of a fashion icon to follow. She now has published over eight fashion books, along with three of her own fashion lines.
