Get to Know Melissa:
Occupation:
Co-Founder and instructor at ZYN22 and drill team director for eighteen years at Southlake Carroll High School.
What does beauty mean to you?
"It's not what you look at that matters, it's what you see." It's words from Henry Thoreau that I tell my riders and continue to remind myself daily.
Who is your beauty/style icon?
Audrey Hepburn
Who is your female role model, and why?
That would definitely be Mom. She is the most compassionate person I've ever known and I've always admired how she is such a giver.
What are your hobbies?
If I'm not instructing at ZYN22 or working with my team of 90 high school girls, I love being with friends and, of course, shoe shopping!
Tell us an interesting fact about yourself.
As a drill team director, I've spent half of my life traveling on a school bus and sitting in the bleachers for high school football games.
Why did you choose Fort Worth?
My husband and I chose to put the flagship ZYN22 studio in Fort Worth because it's such a cool city. It's a big city, but a great since of community.
What is your favorite thing about Fort Worth?
Fort Worth has it's own vibe. It's friendly, cultured, and hip. I love the nickname funky town.
What do you consider your best feature or characteristic? (physical or non-physical)
I think my friends would say I'm a kind person. I believe I've always been accepting of others and for the most part, happy!
