What does beauty mean to you?
When I first think of beauty, I think physical attractiveness, which of course can mean something different for everyone and is in the eye of the beholder; but, on a deeper level, beauty is defined by someone's soul; someone who's genuine, caring, loving, humble and selfless. There are a lot of pretty faces in the world but it's someone's soul that defines them as being truly “beautiful.”
Who is your beauty/style icon?
I don't know that I've ever had a beauty or style icon, that's never really been something I've fixated on, but would have to say that my sister-in-law, Heather Kilgore, is the most fashionable person I know.
Who is your female role model, and why?
I know it's kind of cliché but my mom, Pat Morrison, is my role model. My mom has taught me strength, humility, morals, faith, what it means to have a good work ethic and above all else, the true meaning of unconditional love. She has always been my rock and the epitome of what it means to be a “mother”; by her example and influence she has made me the woman and the mother I am today.
What are your hobbies?
This is always a tough question for me. I own a tanning salon, work full-time (outside of owning a business), have been a single mom for 16 years, spent the last year planning a wedding and getting married and now building a house, so when asked “what are your hobbies,” my immediate reaction is “Hobbies??? Who has time for hobbies?”. Fall is my favorite time of year; I love watching football (college & NFL), enjoying a nice patio and the beautiful weather, cooking, dove hunting/hunting and prepping for Thanksgiving and Christmas. I love to travel whenever I get the opportunity and my husband and I absolutely love going to Las Vegas. With all that said, in my downtown, I just love being in the company of my husband, my son, my family and friends; it doesn't really matter what we are doing as long as we are together.
Tell us an interesting fact about yourself.
My dream job was to join U.S. Military and become a fighter pilot.
Why did you choose Fort Worth?
I don't know that I chose Fort Worth as much as a place I ended up, but I definitely chose to stay because of the wonderful friends I've made, the opportunities this town has given me and sense of community Fort Worth possess, all of which has made this my home.
What is your favorite thing about Fort Worth?
I grew up in the small town of Alpine, Texas and my absolute favorite thing about Fort Worth is the “big” small town feel. There is truly 6th degrees of separation between everyone I meet and love that no matter who it is, the longer we talk, the more people we have in common.
What do you consider your best feature or characteristic? (physical or non-physical)
I would say my best characteristic is being able to get along with just about any personality.
