After graduating with a Journalism degree from TCU in 1988, I started my career working for a small ad agency in Fort Worth before joining the Summit Group, a medium-sized ad agency and publishing company. While at Summit, I launched Michaels Arts and Crafts magazine in conjunction with Michaels Arts and Crafts stores. After three years with Summit, I left to become a vice president at Witherspoon Advertising and Public Relations. Three years later, I rejoined The Summit Group and launched Outdoor World magazine in conjunction with Bass Pro Shops. A year later, a business partner and I bought the two magazines from the Summit Group and created the company Magnolia Media Group. As a partner and chief operating officer of Magnolia Media Group, my partner and I spent the next 11 years launching seven other magazines, including Fort Worth, Texas magazine. In 2005 I bought-out my partner’s interest in Fort Worth, Texas: The City’s Magazine to dedicate myself full time to ensure its long-term success. I am the super majority stock holder in Fort Worth, Texas magazine.
I was a three-year letterman in football for TCU. My three children range in age in 16 years.
Favorite Things About Fort Worth: My favorite thing about Fort Worth is the mix of cowboys and culture and how well city government works together with the private sector for positive controlled growth of commerce. Favorite Thing About the Magazine: That the citizens of Fort Worth take pride in it
Spend time with my wife Camille and three children. I have lived in Aledo for 20 years.
